The Kindle Scribe is a new Kindle model designed for both reading and writing. It comes with a 10.2-inch, 300 PPI Paperwhite display and a Premium Pen. The device is priced at £340 for the 32 GB version. The product provides a simple conversion of handwritten notes to text files which you can then email to yourself. This feature has been added as part of a software update in May 2023. The device lacks certain features compared to some other e-ink writing tablets, such as screen sharing and OCR functionality. However, Kindle Scribe is cheaper than other alternatives such as the reMarkable. The product has received mixed reviews while it works well as a Kindle with its long battery life, it fails to deliver as a note-taking device. The software is often buggy and not fit for purpose. The device has received updates to improve the note-taking experience, adding extra features such as more pen options and convert handwriting to text, but it lacks fundamental features such as backing up notes in the cloud.
