M-AUDIO MIDI Controller Oxygen Pro 49 Editorial Review
The M-Audio MIDI Keyboard Bundle, featuring the 61 Key USB MIDI Controller Oxygen Pro 61, has garnered a generally positive reception among users. This bundle is particularly well-regarded for its excellent value and flexibility, making it a solid choice for both beginners and more experienced musicians. The keyboard is powered solely via USB, which may be a slight drawback for users seeking the option of an external power supply; however, it's a minor issue Considering the controller's affordability. Users praised the ease of setup, benefiting from numerous presets compatible with various digital audio workstations (DAWs). The inclusion of sixteen velocity-sensitive RGB drum pads has been highlighted as a standout feature, especially appealing to those interested in software drumming and live performance. Moreover, the bundled software synths provide additional creative possibilities without necessitating extra purchases. While the Oxygen Pro 61 provides a host of useful features, some critics note that the keys lack the sensitivity and aftertouch found in more premium models, which could limit dynamic expression for advanced users. Nevertheless, beginners are encouraged to take advantage of the well-structured instructions available on the M-Audio website, facilitating a smoother learning curve. In terms of portability, the keyboard is relatively heavy for regular transport and would benefit from a padded gig bag for musicians who travel frequently with their gear. **
