What is the HJC HJ-17R Shield Blue Mirror made of?

The HJC HJ-17R Shield Blue Mirror is crafted from high-quality polycarbonate. This material is known for its durability and resistance to impact, making it an ideal choice for motorcycle helmet visors. Unlike regular plastic, polycarbonate shields provide enhanced optical clarity, ensuring you see the road clearly. In addition to its robustness, the shield is lightweight, making it comfortable for extended wear during rides.

Is the HJC HJ-17R Shield Blue Mirror scratch-resistant?

Yes, the HJC HJ-17R Shield features a scratch-resistant coating that helps protect the surface from minor abrasions. This feature is crucial for maintaining visibility while riding, especially in rugged conditions. Riders often find that a scratch-resistant shield extends the life of the product significantly, allowing them to enjoy crystal-clear vision for longer periods.

Does the HJC HJ-17R Shield provide UV protection?

Absolutely! The HJC HJ-17R Shield Blue Mirror includes built-in UV protection. This ensures that harmful ultraviolet rays are blocked, shielding your eyes from the sun during long rides. This protection not only enhances comfort but also helps preserve your vision, making it suitable for various weather conditions, particularly on sunny days.

How easy is it to install the HJC HJ-17R Shield?

Installing the HJC HJ-17R Shield is a straightforward process. It is designed to fit perfectly into specific HJC helmet models with minimal tools required. By following the provided instructions carefully, riders can quickly swap out their shields. This feature is handy for those who frequently change their visor based on riding conditions or aesthetics.

Can I use the HJC HJ-17R Shield for night riding?

While the HJC HJ-17R Shield Blue Mirror is primarily designed for daytime use to reduce glare, it may not be optimal for night riding. The reflective blue tint can hinder visibility in low-light conditions. Riders who frequently ride at night may want to consider a clear shield for improved visibility after dark.

What helmets are compatible with the HJC HJ-17R Shield?

The HJC HJ-17R Shield is specifically designed for use with select HJC helmet models. Before purchasing, it’s essential to check compatibility to ensure a secure fit. If you’re an HJC helmet user, this shield enhances your helmet's functionality while providing improved aesthetics and vision clarity on the road.

Is the HJC HJ-17R Shield fog-resistant?

The HJC HJ-17R Shield incorporates anti-fog technology to help reduce fogging during temperature changes. This is particularly beneficial for riders in varying climates, as fog can obstruct vision and increase safety risks. To maximize this feature, it’s essential to ensure proper ventilation in your helmet.

Can I clean the HJC HJ-17R Shield with standard cleaners?

For optimal maintenance of the HJC HJ-17R Shield, it’s advised to use only a mild soap and water solution along with a soft microfiber cloth. Harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners can damage the protective coating and affect clarity. Regular cleaning will also ensure that your shield stays in top condition, enhancing your overall riding experience.

What tint does the HJC HJ-17R Shield Blue Mirror provide?

The HJC HJ-17R Shield features a striking blue mirror tint. This tint not only adds an aesthetic appeal to your helmet but also reduces glare from the sun.
