Van Ryder Games Board Games VRGFGSF02 Editorial Review
**** The "Final Girl – Shriek Feature Film Box" from Van Ryder Games has garnered positive attention for its engaging gameplay and immersive horror theme. This standalone expansion requires the Core Box to truly shine, as it builds on the mechanics and components introduced in the initial game. Players have described it as an entertaining experience that allows them to step into the shoes of characters in a classic fighting-girl horror movie scenario, where strategic thinking is essential to fend off a relentless killer while saving bystanders. The game is praised for its intelligent AI mechanics governing the killer’s actions, which adds layers of challenge and excitement to each playthrough. For those familiar with the series, the addition of unique figures and detailed components enhances the thematic experience, providing a visually appealing and tactile play option. Reviews indicate that while "Shriek" may not be the easiest entry point for beginners, it becomes increasingly rewarding for those who invest time in understanding the game mechanics. Players appreciate the rich artwork on the game boards and cards, which complements the overall horror aesthetic. Although some might prefer other editions in the Final Girl series, such as Krampus, Shriek nonetheless holds its own as a worthy addition to a collection. The game’s replayability, combined with its cooperative or solo play options, makes it suitable for both casual and experienced gamers looking for a fun, atmospheric horror board game experience. **Pros and Cons:** **
