MTD Genuine Parts Deck Parts 753-05851 Editorial Review
**** The MTD Replacement Part Service Replacement Kit has garnered mixed to positive reviews from customers who have recently undertaken the daunting task of replacing transmissions on their lawn mowers. Many users, particularly those with Troy Bilt Pony models, reported that installation was straightforward, often taking around one to two hours. The kit was noted for its precise fit, leading to immediate improvements in machinery performance. However, some installation tips from reviewers highlighted common setbacks—specifically the need to tap new holes in the aluminum housing and ensuring no critical small parts were omitted, such as a guide clip for the shifter mechanism. While the majority of customers found the product to function well after installation, there were mentions of frustrations related to technical support. One user experienced significant issues with shifter linkage sticking upon installation, leading them to revert to their old unit until they discovered the missing clip. Despite these minor hiccups, most reviews reflect satisfaction with the product's overall performance and value, making it a recommended choice for those needing a reliable replacement. Overall, the MTD Replacement Part Service Replacement Kit appears to be an effective solution for those in need of a transmission replacement, provided that users are prepared for some DIY challenges during installation. **
