"Murder Underground" by Mavis Hay is a light and entertaining murder mystery set in the 1930s. The story revolves around a group of characters who become embroiled in the aftermath of a murder, with plenty of twists and turns to keep readers engaged. However, some readers found the cast of characters unappealing, dull and self-indulgent. The plot is not overly complicated but is seen by some as tedious and fails to provide good character development or writing style, even though others appreciated the author's language skills that made for an enjoyable read.
