The adhesive is impregnated with carbon particles that can allow for double sided conductivity but for a good contact you need an overlap of about 0.5in, both pieces should be smooth and clean, and you should press hard to make good contact. Because of this requirement we typically recommend beginners to use this tape as if it were single-side conductive.
