What features does the Ultrak 495 timer offer?

The Ultrak 495 timer comes with a robust set of features including a 100-lap memory, dual split times, and the ability to recall the last ten split times. This makes it ideal for athletes and coaches who need to track performance meticulously during training sessions. Furthermore, it has a large, easy-to-read display, ensuring that vital information can be viewed at a glance. Whether you’re timing races, workouts, or events, the Ultrak 495 allows for precise monitoring and valuable insights into performance metrics.

How does the 100-lap memory work on the Ultrak 495?

The 100-lap memory feature allows users to record lap times up to 100 separate occasions, providing an extensive history that can be reviewed later. This is particularly useful for runners who want to analyze their performance in various segments of their race or training. By storing these lap times, athletes can identify improvements and make strategic adjustments to their training. The recall function also helps in comparing lap times against past performances, enhancing training effectiveness.

Is the Ultrak 495 waterproof or water-resistant?

The Ultrak 495 is designed to be splash-resistant, making it suitable for use in various settings such as track surfaces or during outdoor workouts. However, it's essential to avoid submerging it in water or exposing it to heavy rain. This water-resistant feature provides durability, ensuring that athletes can rely on it during sweaty workouts or in light rain. It's perfect for runners, swimmers, or any sports enthusiasts who work out in less-than-ideal weather conditions.

Can I use the Ultrak 495 for swimming events?

While the Ultrak 495 is not specifically designed for underwater use, it is suitable for timing swimming events when used from the poolside or on deck. Its quick response time and accurate lap counting make it an excellent choice for swim coaches who need to time heats and practice sessions. Just remember to keep it dry to maintain its functionality. For visual confirmation, use the timer to track swimmers' lap times as they turn at the wall, ensuring precise performance tracking.

What type of battery does the Ultrak 495 use?

The Ultrak 495 timer operates on a user-replaceable battery, typically a CR2032 coin cell battery. This design allows users to easily replace the battery when needed, ensuring that the timer remains functional without requiring specialized tools. Keeping an extra battery on hand is advisable for consistent training sessions. Regular battery checks can help you avoid interruptions during important workouts or competitions, ensuring your timer is ready when you need it most.

How do I set up the Ultrak 495 timer?

Setting up the Ultrak 495 timer is straightforward. Start by inserting the battery and turning it on. The timer will guide you through the setup process with clear prompts. Next, you can set the desired time format and other preferences. This ease of setup ensures that you can get started with timing your workouts or events quickly. Whether you’re preparing for a race or just tracking your daily workout, having the timer ready to go lets you focus more on performance and less on setup.

What is the maximum display time on the Ultrak 495?

The Ultrak 495 timer can display up to 99 hours, 59 minutes, and 59 seconds, allowing for extensive timing capabilities suitable for various sporting events. This duration is ample for most athletic activities, including marathons, triathlons, and other endurance events. This comprehensive time tracking ensures that you can measure long periods of performance continuously without interruptions, making it a trusted companion for serious athletes.

Is the Ultrak 495 suitable for children or beginners?

Yes, the Ultrak 495 timer is user-friendly and accessible for both children and beginners. Its straightforward interface, coupled with an easy-to-read display, makes it perfect for young athletes or those just starting to track their performance. Using this timer can help children develop a sense of timing and encourage them to set personal goals. As they use the timer to track their workouts, they can learn about pacing and improvement in a fun and engaging manner.

Does the Ultrak 495 provide audible alerts?

Yes, the Ultrak 495 timer is equipped with audible alerts that signal key events, such as split times or lap completions. This feature is especially beneficial during intense workouts or races, where athletes may not be able to glance at the timer continuously. The sound cues help maintain focus and provide instant feedback, making it easier to adhere to training plans or race strategies.
