ddrum Electronic Pads EDRDDBETA Editorial Review
The ddrum DD Beta Electronic Drum Kit is a suitable entry-level choice for anyone who wants to learn drums without making a big investment. The kit comes with everything needed to play out of the box, including cymbals, bass, and snare. The kit is relatively easy to assemble, but wires are too long, and cables need to be wrapped and routed several times for a clean look. The pads have good response and bounce, enabling easy drum rolls. It has independent volume for each pad, which is helpful since the hi-hat can be overwhelming. However, the controller has several issues such as ghosting, missed hits, lockup, and a non-responsive hi-hat, despite being a variable device. The kick pedal is also slow, making it hard to play fast note beats. The set needs assembling, and the wiring can be both problematic and messy. The kit is suitable for general use and will prepare a learner for advanced gear in the future. It has enough functionality for an entry-level set, but its documentation for actual use is inadequate, with most instructions having to be sourced from a different industry. Overall, the performance is relatively good for the price, and it is a good kit for beginners who are not yet sure they want to stick with the drums.
