The Native Instruments MASCHINE Production Workstation offers both standalone functionality and the ability to connect to a computer as a controller. In standalone mode, it comes with select Native Instruments synths, but can also control external hardware synths. When connected to a computer, it provides the same functionality as the MK3. The MASCHINE+ can be used as a standalone device by plugging it into the wall with the included adapter. It does not need to be connected to a computer and can be started up, signed in, and have content downloaded directly. The MASCHINE+ is a newer version compared to the MK3, offering a standalone experience in addition to the regular features of the MK3. While the MASCHINE+ does not come with the Maschine software for the PC, it can be used as a controller for the PC Maschine software if you already have it. In terms of customer reviews, there have been some complaints about receiving used items that are already registered, making them unusable. This has caused frustration for customers who paid a significant amount for the device.
