California Editorial Review

**Editorial Review of "One Good Dish" by David Tanis** David Tanis’s "One Good Dish" has garnered enthusiastic praise from readers, particularly for its straightforward and approachable recipes that appeal to both novice and experienced cooks alike. The book's organization by concept rather than traditional categorization by season is refreshing and useful, allowing readers to innovate based on their available ingredients. Many customers appreciate Tanis’s ability to simplify cooking, leading them to rediscover ingredients they might have disliked, such as kale, by providing effective cooking techniques. The inclusion of headnotes that offer context and inspiration for each dish alongside compelling food photography enhances the overall reading experience, drawing in readers and enticing them to try out new recipes. Despite a few critiques regarding some overly simplistic recipes, such as Prosciutto with fruit, the Consensus is that the book more than compensates with a collection of ingenious options. Readers have singled out various dishes from hearty Tunisian meatballs to innovative flatbreads and pickled ginger, all presented with clear instructions and engaging narratives. While there are a handful of ingredients that may be hard to find or require substitutions, the overall reception highlights "One Good Dish" as a valuable addition to any kitchen, making meal preparation enjoyable and inspiring. In summary, Tanis's blend of creativity, simplicity, and culinary craftsmanship allows readers to engage with the joy of cooking, making "One Good Dish" a recommended read for anyone looking to elevate their home cooking experience. **
