The Rit Liquid Fabric Dye in Black is a reliable and effective solution for dying fabrics. It is recommended to use the dye in hot water, along with a teaspoon of washing up liquid and half a cup of salt. For faded jeans, a mixture of 50% black dye and 50% royal blue dye is suggested. The fabric should be stirred in the solution for 20-30 minutes. The dye is not intended for use in a washing machine. One customer confirms that the dye works well on polyester when used according to the instructions. However, there was a negative experience reported when attempting to cover a bleach stain on a nylon/elastain jumper. The dye did not work for this purpose. Overall, the Rit Liquid Fabric Dye in Black is a reliable option for dying fabrics, particularly on polyester. However, it may not be effective in covering bleach stains on certain fabric materials.
