Answer: Yes the high strings are steel however the low strings are nickleplated steel as it adds to a more bassier tone. Hope that helped :) -

Answer: That's the difference, the copper zinc winding, basically a phosphor bronze heavy on the copper... the Electric strings are 8% nickel plated steel wrap wire on a tinned mandolin wire hexcore. -
